The Solar Weapon, referred to as a "Singer" by Remontoire, was a massive Inhibitor superstructure capable of causing precision coronal mass ejections. One of fifteen techniques for stellar destruction known to the Inhibitors, it worked by encircling the target star in a massive ring and rotating. Through some unknown process, this enabled it to unleash what was described by human witnesses as a "solar flamethrower". When targeted at a planet in the same system, the Singer would destroy all life on it without exception.

During the only known use of this weapon against a human-controlled planet, Resurgam, the massive superstructure of the Singer required the Inhibitors to shatter and re-purpose the raw material of an entire gas giant, Roc.
