Once Alan married Valerie Madison, his lesbian co-star, as part of a PR stunt, his relationship with Matt ended. After the wedding, however, an article was published in the newspaper that outed Alan. Although Matt suspected Dave Erickson of leaking the story, it was Alan who had outed himself.
