The Ground Pounders or "Gee-Pees" were one of three roving Imperial fleets that patrolled the Tapani sector during the Galactic Civil War. The other fleets were the Tapani Defense Force and Swift Wing. The Gee-Pees were a small highly mobile fleet that were often given specialist assignment such as interception and seizure, and air-to-surface bombardment. The fleet spends most of its time on patrols through the sector but this duty was secondary to any special assignment. It was not uncommon for the Ground Pounders to break off a patrol to respond to an emergency within the sector.
