- Desert Fox (せんしゃで タンク lit. Fighting vehicle tank in Japanese) is the ninth level in Crash Bash, the fifth stage in the second warp room and the first Tank Wars arena. The objective is to destroy the opponent's tanks without being destroyed as well. Should the 90 second time limit expire and more than one player remains, then the one with the most health wins. There are four different types of tank, each with their own strengths. The name of this level is a reference to the senior German Army officer Erwin Rommel, known as the Desert Fox in World War II.

- Stranded in the Scorchio Zone, penguin comedian Willie Waddle is an odd desert-dweller. Deciding that his bad jokes are what got him here in the first place, Waddle decides to quit his job. However, he fears the worst when a shadow comes towards him - until he realises it's just Tails! Waddle explains to the fox that his comedy routine used to be filled with jokes about Doctor Robotnik. One day, a walrus travel agent from "Mobius Airways" offered him a free holiday for all his hard work. Unfortunately, he turned out to be Robotnik in disguise and, during their flight, dropped the comedian into the sand. Tails reveals he has come to rescue him and get him back in time for tonight's act. As the two take off, they are suddenly attacked by a submerged Sandworm. The blinding light from the Sun dazzles Tails and they are both hit by the Badnik's cannons. Tails bumps his head and is temporarily knocked out, making him a prime target for the Badnik. Waddle contemplates escaping whilst the Badnik is busy, but feels guilty and returns. He tells a bad joke, confusing the Sandworm. This gives Tails time to wake up and destroy the Badnik. Later, at the Comedy Club, Waddle is back doing his performance and is getting as many laughs as before. Tails isn't so impressed, jokingly wondering if he should have left him in the desert.

The objective is to destroy the opponent's tanks without being destroyed as well. Should the 90 second time limit expire and more than one player remains, then the one with the most health wins. There are four different types of tank, each with their own strengths.
* Crash and Coco use fruit cannons. These rounds are the most balanced of the four.
* Cortex's and N. Brio's tanks shoot blasts of green energy. These rounds move much faster than any other, but do less damage
* Tiny Tiger and Koala Kong fire large spiky cannonballs. These rounds move slower than any other, but do much more damage.
* Rilla Roo and Dingodile use small fireballs. These rounds do less damage than any other, but can fire an extra round. Whenever a tank fires a shot, it cannot fire again until the shot either hits a target or expires after five seconds. The exception is that Rilla Roo and Dingodile can fire two shots at once. The name of this level is a reference to the senior German Army officer Erwin Rommel, known as the Desert Fox in World War II.
