The Yelnina family was a political family from Naboo, the youngest of the most powerful families. They first came to power in the 8th Century BBY, when one man, a certain Magnos Yelnina, prevented the then-King from being assassinated, and successfully married his son into the royal line. Most of the more prominent members since, however, had preferred to serve in offworld positions; this family had produced more Senators than any other. Their traditional regal name was Neldonin. There was traditionally a fierce rivalry between the Yelninas and the Talstrine family, which led to bloodshed between the two of them in the early second century BBY.
