  • The book of Secrets is passed down to each President, who finds his own hiding place for the book. The book holds all the secrets to the history of the United States. Some of the things that are in the book are the answers to the JFK assassination, what happened to the eighteen missing minutes from the Watergate tapes, the truth from Apollo 11, and whether Area 51 is real. The only way to see the book is to become President of the United States or to be shown it by one.

  • This book has been mentioned thrice so far in The Kingkiller Chronicles In WMF, Kvothe finds a book titled "The Book of Secrets". "Eventually I discovered a slim volume called The Book of Secrets buried deep in the Dead Ledgers. Itwas an odd book: arranged like a bestiary but written like a children’s primer. It had pictures of faerie-tale creatures like ogres, trow, and dennerlings. Each entry had a picture accompanied by a short, insipid poem." Also old Cobb mentions it in his Story where Kvothe was attacked in the alley:
  • An extra on the TLJ disks, the Book of Secrets contains additional material for the game, and is best noted for the audio out-takes. Some highlights include Roger Raines' cheery mispronunciation of 'Tagate', Madison Arnold and Sarah Hamilton in an Irish-accent-duel, Ron Foster getting to grips with the mechanics of Na'ven, and Andrew Donnelly's manic ad-libbing of Burns Flipper's dialogue. It also contains concept art and unused music tracks.
  • The Book of Secrets is a large book that only the owner of the book can open. The owner of the Book is Prince Phobos. It has all of Phobos' secrets and plans for Elyon locked inside. It was first mentioned in "Ambush at Torus Filney" but made its début in "The Mogriffs" where Caleb and Blunk stole it from Elyon's room after Elyon had found it in the library and had taken it there. Despite trying in many ways, they just couldn't open the Book until in "The Seal of Phobos" where the Guardians gained the magical Seal of Phobos that could open anything. That's where they learned of Phobos' plan to steal Elyon from her power.

One is simply to complete the game; the other is to take the Organic Plastic Leaf from the Border House and plant it in the City Green in Marcuria. Like other content in the game, it can of course also be accessed through the TLJ Viewer or using an .ini Hack.

The exterior is covered in strange glyphs and runes of the Arcane Language of Magic. Those who can read it get a sense of what this volume contains: the exploitation of the Winds of Magic. To use this Grimoire, the user must spend three weeks studying the arcane words within. At the end of this time, he may use the book to cast spells from the Lore of Death, Fire, or Shadow. His ability to use magic is amplified while the tome remains in hand. But when he casts spells using this book, he risks suffering from the Curse of Tzeentch. What's worse, each time this book is used to cast a spell, the wielder resolve is tested against mutation. Furthermore, if a servant of Khorne (cultist or Champion) attempts to use this book, the Blood God immediately destroys the wayward mortal.

Also old Cobb mentions it in his Story where Kvothe was attacked in the alley: "... so Kvothe uses a dark magic that he found in a secret book up in the university, he speaks 3 terrible secret words and calls up a demon made all of shadows..." Later on, during a story telling session in the Eld, Hespe tells the story of Jax and the Tinker. We later find out that Jax is Iax, the moon thief. "So the tinker moved on to his second pack. It held rarer things. A gear soldier that marched if youwound him. A bright set of paints with four different brushes. A book of secrets. A piece of iron thatfell from the sky. . . ." Could this possibly be the same book? A later edition with much of the text altered after being in the Archives for so long? Kvothe has the assumption that someone is deliberately pruning the archives after finding either too little or conflicting information during his search for the Amyr. Kvothe finds an interesting poem about the Chandrian that makes this theory more concrete. “The Chandrian move from place to place, But they never leave a trace. They hold their secrets very tight, But they never scratch and they never bite. They never fight and they never fuss. In fact they are quite nice to us. They come and they go in the blink of an eye, Like a bright bolt of lightning out of the sky.”
