After Marcia found out about their affair, she had a breakdown and tried to commit suicide. Paul stated that he felt nothing for her but pity and wanted to marry Carrie.

Carrie tracked him down and made a pitch to use Models Inc. for his catalog. Before long, Paul and Carrie began having an affair, despite him being married to Marcia Carson. After Marcia found out about their affair, she had a breakdown and tried to commit suicide. Paul stated that he felt nothing for her but pity and wanted to marry Carrie. After Carrie was arrested for the murder of Teri Spencer, however, Paul found out the truth about everything, including the fact that Carrie had sought him out in search of her son. He broke up with her and told her to stay away from him. Paul later resurfaced, however, citing that he had moved out of the house from Marcia and wanted to be with Carrie. Carrie, however, told she couldn't keep getting jerked around ans told Paul she never wanted to see him again.
