The Dark Devil attacks by splitting into multiple spherical pieces of itself as the pieces bounce along the floor to the other side of the area before reforming, just before shooting a small bullet at Freudia Neuwahl (or Pamela Arwig). When half of its health is depleted, it'll fade away from the area and create a wind while smaller pieces of itself will fly across it from both sides, before the Dark Devil reforms like normal. The Dark Devil's weakness is Eislanze, which is obtained from Luste Teuber. After its defeat, the Dark Devil returns to normal as its previous identity, Eifer.

- It attacks by splitting into a series of bouncing purple projectiles that go across the screen before reforming on the other and shooting a sole projectile at the player. During Desperation Mode, the Dark Devil gains a new attack wherein it will phase off screen and send body parts flying from both sides while also creating a wind effect, after this is done it will reform like normal. Its weakness is Eislanze, which is obtained from Luste Teuber.
- Dark Devil was either a singular character or a mob that can give the player certain items such as Dark Devil's Silver Coin, or Dark Devil's Supply Crate, etc.
- Dark devils are crafted monsters, meaning that they can only be fought once they are released from their respective box. Their appearance is very similar to dust devils and sea devils, and they have stats identical to both dust and sea devils. Dark devils do not require players to have 65 Slayer to fight them. Instead, 56 Monstercrafting is required to release them from their box. Just like dust and sea devils, the creature drops the dragon chainbody. The dark devil, however, drops runes a lot more often than the other two creatures.
