2077(1324) Decius Quilcatius Caland, a Britannia Sup. geologist discovered a large deposit of bones similar to the few found not too far away almost 150 years ago. Studying them, he finds they are most likely all the same species which he calls Megalosauros. When he reads of the Iquanodonti fossils found earlier, he invents the term Terasauros to describe these extinct species of giant lizards. Also this year, the Vacuus Abstergeo was invented by Ivus Sornatius Goratius in a Scanata ADA. They were efficient at sucking up dust. 2082(1329) Mesopotamia joined the Senate. • 2077(1324) Decius Quilcatius Caland, a Britannia Sup. geologist discovered a large deposit of bones similar to the few found not too far away almost 150 years ago. Studying them, he finds they are most likely all the same species which he calls Megalosauros. Women and slaves mostly took the jobs they once had and the women especially showed no intention of losing a symbol of independence. It certainly didn’t help that agriculture was dealing with more and more droughts (or very unhelpful floods) these days, especially Asia Australis - the central regions of the island-continent were pretty much all desert nowadays. Also this year, the Vacuus Abstergeo was invented by Ivus Sornatius Goratius in a Scanata ADA. They were efficient at sucking up dust. Again also, the Sicilian radiologist Antiginy Ankura Lora independently discovered Comæ Ankuræ. They are a distinct higher frequency radiation than Comæ Ignobilia and likewise have potential in the medical fields. 2079(1326) The first practical use Camera was developed by Nicetus Herminius Nicasius in a Gallia Lugdunensis ADA. It was a revolutionary, super popular, and about-time development and in a short 20 years they would become as commonplace as the telelexy and cheap enough that the still recovering depression families could afford them. Journalism and the propaganda industry is likewise revitalized, the only problem is that for the longest time pictures are only black and white or sepia. 2080’s(1327+) facilii telelexium(cell phones) started proliferating throughout the Roman world as the devices became smaller, more reliable, better serviced, and longer lived. The application of Lotos Math in their antennae designs greatly increased the number of receivable frequencies to support more services while remaining small and cheap. The Muscovites started diverting their small stretch of the Yakiriya (Syr Darya) for farming in the Ahielralm Batinya (Kyzyl Kum Desert). 2080(1327) In a rash and unwise move, the ‘Republic’ of Monomotopai invaded the island nation Madagascar. Agricultural failure had rippled through the nation harshly this year though the Madagasy Kingdom was comparatively bountiful and wealthy, mostly from exotic trade since there is much variety in the islands flora and fauna. It also was a natural gateway between Asia and subtropical Africa. Recognizing the incorrect, although justified actions of Monomotopai, the Concilium Mundi decreed that economic sanctions against Monomotopai be put in place, though the council was incapable of mobilizing military actions on its own. Still honouring (possibly somewhat mockingly) the non expansion policies, Rome holds back and the Madagasy are conquered. It takes a few years and the drying up of the once vast Madagasy market before the Monomotopains agree to withdraw. Although the economic sanctions worked in the end, the Madagasy were near devastation without trade and many philosophical discussions in the Council debate whether an organization without territory beyond the headquarters building, no citizens, and no economy should be given control over an international policing force. Roman senators find the idea hypothetically interesting while the other member nations have varying degrees of agreement or disagreement. Also this year Drusus Sepurnicus Teslus once again invents something. This something is modern, artificial wire insulation-completely derived for oleum byproducts. It greatly cheapens electrical wiring. Amburo are invented. They are little wooden strips with flint encrusted pyro chemicals on one end. They make fire starting fun AND easy. Again also this year, a company in Scanata called Intutus held the first commercialized paint marker Human-hunting game, having bought rights from a local paint marker device producer to manufacture and modify markers for their own use. Theten players hunted each other in a woodlot leased by the company. The game was high tension but low action as the players had to quietly find where the others were while their ammunition was very limited. The game ended when the majority of players had ran out of ammunition, which took several hours. The game turned out to be a huge success and within months Intutus Ago was having difficulty scheduling enough woodlot leases to contend with all their customers. The commercial success would lead to many other companies in other provinces forming to hold games (some paint companies formed sub-divisions to run games of their own). At first, safety was left to the discretion of the players, obviously a bad idea for some, so soon goggles were required by the companies, some rented them out, others required the players to supply their own. Otherwise injuries (worth crying over) were almost non-existent. Also, palabiologotori (paleontologists) began a 30 year debate as to whether terasaurii were bi- or quadrupeds after the discovery of large fossil beds in Lacota and the Cuashium Confederation. Six Paleontologists would fight over the discoveries, sometimes destroying the precious fossils. 2082(1329) Mesopotamia joined the Senate. Also this year, Lakobos Sergius Tenso, an extrudotrusi mechanic in Vuditania, developed an engine cycle which increased the cylinders efficiency at a small cost of power by leaving the intake valve open longer to make the piston rise easier. He would found an engine company, and at the expiration of his patent, it found limited utilisation by other engine companies building extrudotrusi with four-stroke engines. 2083(1330) There is a big problem with today's kids. There is now a very large section of the population, mostly in the Roman half of the world, full of university students who are complaining about the environment, foreign policy, social structure, and especially civil rights. At first these multitudes were ignored by the government as crazy, disobedient, drug huffing lunatics, and eventually these youngsters started calling themselves pruddai, some sort of slang meaning to have one’s eyes open. These antiestablishmentarians began causing a lot of student strikes. Also this year, with the renewing of Nihonia’s agreements pertaining to the Post Amplus Arma, many also out of work samurai (since Nihonia’s military was very limited by the CM, the Ninja training was made totally illegal), sometimes grouping with students and peasants, performed mass riots in protest of foreign dictation of Nihonia’s governing. The installed government did not want to dispute the CM regulations with Sinica and Rome bearing down on them. The streets were packed with people demanding less oppression. The CM allowed Nihhon slightly more freedom including military size and lightened its reparations. This satisfied many and eventually the remaining protesters lost interest. The pushing lawn mower, called a Symphoria was invented by Kaeso Enicius Symphorian, independently in Britannia Inf. The first Sponte Elementum Appingo (simplified typewriter, usually just called Sponte Appingo) was invented by Karus Plinius Dranus of a Germania Sup. ADA. It vastly assists court recorders, some typists ending up capable of 250 words a minute. 2084(1331) The multi-coiled Electricus Magnes was invented, just like regular E-magnes, but much stronger. It was invented by Henrius Justus Bassus of a Britannia Inf. ADA. Also this year, the practice of turning water flow into electricus power was developed in a Lacotan ADA. The idea spread quickly and would result in the flooding of a few valleys, powering virtually every middle class Roman home in Terranova, northern Evropa, and Asia Minor. Image:PruddaiPeace Sign.png The Pruddai were beginning to establish themselves as a social group and their protests and demands of the government continued to grow. They wore clothing much more like the formal robes of ancient citizens than the more modern form fitting, shoulder cloaked-and buttoned garments, though theirs usually included elaborate edge designs, frilly sleeves, and a maniacle array of bright colours twisted into them. Heliusi(sun glasses), real long hair, and loose necklaces were very common as well. They continuously preached the impossible advantages of total peace, love, and a more anarchaic government with nondoctrinated social and political processes. This is crazy! Law depends on a doctrine to follow and Law is an everyday Roman’s life! They were widely accepting of a vast range of religions, most popular were those based on ones found in ancient India and Sinica: Zen, Buddhism, Jainism, and Hindi-the common people really have no problem with this particular partiality though. The Pruddai also feared government observation of their lives, describing decent Romans as being subjects to ‘ab Familiae’, or ‘Amplus Frater’, and/or ‘ab Augustus/Imperator’. This was confusing and unacceptable. How could the name of one of Rome’s greatest Caesars be considered a conspiratorial insult? What the heck :/ Also this year, organized civil revolts flared up in Simbabwe province. Again also, unfortunately, Nigerian revolts also started but were shorter lived due to the importance of the Nigerian Delta to Roman interest. Again also, in Bohj, India; a chemical plant suffered a catastrophic explosion, the insecticides immediately killed 2000 people, with 15 000 dying later from long-term effects. It was the worst gas-chemical disaster to date. The aftermath of the event helped regulation on eastern industries become more authoritative. 2086(1333) on May 25th several non-government groups in non-Roman Africa founded the ‘Hlelangana wase Afrika Ubunye’(Zulu) the Organization for African Unity. Its intent was to support unity and cohesion between the continent’s nations to present a global front for Africa’s interests. Their strict constitution also stated the obligatory process of eradicating colonialism, especially Roman. A liberation committee was set up to help independence movements. The headquarters was set up in the Mali Empire. Overall the organisation was ineffective in much other than aiding freedom fighters to prolong bloody conflicts. 2087(1334) This year, the Djagatai Khanate was given back its Mare Hyrcania ports. Although this really helped their economy, 20 years of Roman influence soon began producing republican riots and the Khanate had to militarily subdue the people back to feudal loyalty. Laeso Caecitas Braitucus, a blind musician in Gallia Lugdunensis developed Caecitas Scripsi, a text format legible by the blind by touch using raised bumps and ridges. Also this year, Olivus Sornatius Evialis of a Scanatan ADA designed the refrigidus. It of course revolutionized the storage of foods and food-type-products. Once again also this year, an electric thresher, reaper and swather are combined into the Universum by Hilus Ulpius Sioona of a Calusan ADA, doing all three activities at once helped farmers in their continuing (and failing) struggle in turning out good crops in increasingly baked farmlands-but not to worry, combined, Roman farms still output about 100 times (proportionally) more than any other country worth mentioning. The Waroo Kitabubuko , the most advanced learning centre in non-Roman Africa was built by the Mali Empire. A Mali noble began the construction of the university, in an attempt to make it rival all the schools of Rome. By the next year the construction was finished and many nomadic traders used it as a grand marketplace, while citizens of the Mali Empire traveled to it for advanced education nearing Roman standards. It would become a major trade route for salt and gold heading to Rome and elsewhere 20th anniversary of WWI 2088(1335) advances in photographic film made camera pictures much more clear. Also this year, Roman explorers proved the existence of a massive southern continent, calling it Terra Australis. Once again there were those advocating its name be Atlantis :P Also this year, incandescent lights became cheap and efficient enough for mass production for the public, replacing the widely used gas lights. Babarorum pretty much becomes a conquered territory for the CM and its council is in entire charge of what the country will become. So the philosophical question about the Concilium Mundi not owning land or population had ended, next was economy and independent military (the CM was presently restricted to training and operating small police forces at the moment). Babarorum became the great experiment. The Pruddai also started demanding that the poaching of exotic and endangered animals be outlawed and their products confiscated. Namatania and Monomotopai were the worst as poaching revenue contributed greatly to helping the weak governments maintain some resemblance of a stranglehold on the nation. The Cæsar is now Loius Palpellius Balusianus, from Byzantium and aged 38. Image:Senatorial2088 1335.png
