Eddie has decreed that any work containing explicit pedophilia--in any context--needs to be cut. Explicit in this case refers to on-screen sex-scenes involving children under the age of 16. Really Seven Hundred Years Old characters are not exempt. However, we are currently trying to convince him to use ccoa's standards instead, which would split anything that contains pedophilia into four categories: Please add works by alphabetical order.

  • Eddie has decreed that any work containing explicit pedophilia--in any context--needs to be cut. Explicit in this case refers to on-screen sex-scenes involving children under the age of 16. Really Seven Hundred Years Old characters are not exempt. However, we are currently trying to convince him to use ccoa's standards instead, which would split anything that contains pedophilia into four categories: 1. * Fap fiction. Stuff that is meant to tantalize. Anything that glorifies, idealizes, or otherwise fails to present it as the horrible thing it is. Cut. 1. * Values dissonance - a work written in a time period when or a country where the age of consent laws are different or nonexistent. Falls into No Lewdness No Prudishness. 1. * Targeted for that age group. Media for teens that contain teens having sex (I read a few of these while in grade school, they are relatively common). Falls into No Lewdness No Prudishness. 1. * Works that treat it realistically, and show how horrible it can be. Falls into No Lewdness No Prudishness. Obviously, there's going to be some argument, especially on that first one. So here's what we're going to do: Here is a sandbox, Questionable Works. Put any work you find with explicit pedophilic content there, tag it with numbers 1-4 depending on which applies, and add a short (one or two sentences) description of why you think it belongs in that section. If you see something you disagree with, add "CONTENDED" to the end, and bring it here. Be polite, or your posts will be thumped. Please add works by alphabetical order. * Black Bird: Targeted (Restored, but locked). A romantic shoujo manga about a 16-year old girl and her older boyfriend. One, very brief on-panel sex scene. * Lolita: Realistic (already cut, seeking restore). An extremely respected work of fiction which deals entirely with the issue of pedophilia, through the eyes of the mentally disturbed Villain Protagonist. * The Tale of Peter Rabbit: Values dissonance (not yet cut). Anthropomorphic animal characters from civilized on down the sliding scale are likely to be depicted with life cycles comparable to an animal rather than the 75 or so year life cycle of H. sapiens. Any work containing such a character and his parents would be implicitly referring to the product of under-16 sex between said parents, at least at the level of Fridge Logic.
