| - Ayu is a lot tougher than she appears physically, but mentally and emotionally, she is scarred. Often appearing vulnerable, she doesn't have much confidence in her abilities in the Force and is often frightened by the power she holds within and holds many of those she meets at arms length to protect herself from being hurt. Over time, once she has accepted who she is and what she will become, Ayu begins to embrace the Force within her and her confidence within herself grows. She's also extremely stubborn and determined. Once she's set her mind to something, there is very little anyone can do to stop her from achieving her goal. Family is an important part of her life and knowing that she has family still alive is a great source of comfort and while she doesn't know Alen very well, she's slowly beginning to trust him and will fight alongside him in battle, even if it means laying her life on the line. Background
Born into House Varro, Ayumi, or Ayu as she's often known as to her family is the cousin of Alen Na'Varro though having lost contact with him for so long, Ayu barely remembers him, mostly due to her family's avoidance of Alen's father, Aran, who had become obsessed with taking the throne on Corino. Ayu's father, Kirk Na'Varro tried to get his older brother to stop, but he refused to listen. Eventually, when Ayu was around three years of age, Kirk made his young family leave Corino to escape thr growing battles her uncle had made. It turned out to be a lifesaver as her father was killed in an uprising just days before he was due to leave. After her father's death, Ayu and her mother, Nikana, made their way to Corellia, where Ayu began to show signs of Force Sensitivity. Fearing the Jedi would take her away and never be seen again, Nikana, a former Jedi herself, trained the girl to keep her abilities secret, so that another like her wouldn't realise her true potential and she was trained in melee as well as ranged combat techniques. As Ayu grew older, she became exposed to many different areas of life. Her mother had taken a job within a medical center to help pay for Ayu's future. Unfortunately, when Ayu was 12, her mother was exposed to an unknown, but fatal contagin, leaving Ayu orphaned. Sent to an orphanage, with no knowledge of her family, Ayu was soon adopted by Lorien Briggs, a weapons builder, who taught Ayu how weapons were built and over time, Ayu herself helped make more weapons, ranging from blasters to swords. At the age of 14, Ayu forged her first vibroblade, a weapon that she has kept well maintained to this day and while she has forged many since then, her first blade continues to be the most precious to her. At the age of 18, Ayu faced her toughest challenge yet. The Corellian Hundred, a seperatist movement on Corellia, had gathered pace, her home targeted and the one man she considered a father, was killed and she was taken hostage. Beaten and bloody, Ayu soon makes a desperate attempt to escape where she encounters a past she didn't know she had, and a member of her house long thought dead alive and well. Sensing the Force within her, Ayu knows it is time to embrace the one aspect of her life she'd kept buried for so long if she is to escape and remain free.Family
Ayumi doesn't have any immediate family anymore but still has one surviving cousin in the form of Alen Na'Varro. While initially reluctant to accept him as family due to being alone for so long, Ayumi will not see him throw his life away like the rest of the Na'Varro family (other than her mother) did and the chances are if you see Alen, you won't find Ayumi that far behind either, making sure he didn't do anything rash. Unbeknownst to Alen or the Penumbra, Ayumi has long kept a secret that she refuses to reveal to anyone. She has a younger brother that was born without the knowledge of House Varro named Gunnar and a promise she'd made to her mother as a child means she'll never willingly reveal Gunnar's nane or where her brother now resides as Nikana wanted the child protected from the painful history of House Varro. Why Ayumi chose to leave her younger brother under the care of others is a question only she knows the answer to and until she feels the time is right for her brother to be revealed, she will not speak of him/her to anyone.
