| - John Ellis ist ein Mensch des 20. Jahrhunderts.

- He was a fireman during World War II but worked in retail in 1953. He was supposed to finalise a deal in Dublin on 19 December, the day after he disappeared. By 2007, his wife was long dead. After arriving, John saw his by then elderly son Alan, who suffered from Alzheimer's disease and failed to recognise him. Alan had married a woman named Sally but they had no children. John saw no purpose in his life now that his family was gone. File:CharStub.png

| - John "Jack" Ellis, born in Tyldesley, Lancashire on 25 January 1908, was a goalkeeper who joined Bristol Rovers in 1934 from Wolverhampton Wanderers. He spent four years at Rovers, during which time he played 86 league games, before heading off to join Hull City in 1938. Probably his most ignominious moment as a Rovers player came on 13 April 1936, when Rovers lost 12–0 to Luton Town, the biggest defeat ever suffered by Bristol Rovers. Among the goalscorers was reserve wing-half Joe Payne, playing as an emergency striker due to an injury crisis. He netted an amazing ten times for Luton, which still stands as a Football League record for the most goals in a single game by any player. Ellis died in his home town in January 1994 at the age of 86.

John saw no purpose in his life now that his family was gone. He tried to commit suicide but Jack Harkness stopped him. After explaining himself, Jack decided to let him kill himself. He did so by carbon monoxide poisoning. (TV: Out of Time) File:CharStub.png
