- Swoops, previously known as Swoopers, are a species of bat-like enemies that appear in the Mario series. They are enemies that hang upside down on the ceiling, but as soon as Mario moves close to them, they fall down and start flying toward him. In some games, they also swoop down and back up, as their name would suggest; they do not target the player specifically, but simply fly back up again.

The Turks plan a strike against Bladedancer that goes awry when she's not where they think she'll be. Team Kimba figures out who did the earlier attack, and challenges the Turks. They destroy the Turks in under a minute. She's recruited into Elite League.
- "To swoop" is a ludicrous verb used by the mass media to suggest football clubs are like some bloody massive eagle covered in shinpads instead of a normal business. Without the means to snatch from the air, most clubs use proper methods of communication to ask people to join their organisation. Despite the ban on modern technology which has left all clubs communicating via fax machine, no footballer has ever been plucked into the heavens by a rival club. The phenomenon may have arisen from the use of air travel to transport players to their new destination, with many believing the process to be indistinguishable from magic.
- Swoop is a playable character that is similar to a bird, but made out of cloth and other knick-knacks. Swoop can fly and glide around. Similarly to a real bird, Swoop makes erratic twitches commonly.
- thumb|right|250px|Un swoopLes swoops sont des sortes de véhicules à répulseurs de la famille des motojets. Ils étaient notamment construit sur Taris par les industries Lhosan.

- Enjoys watching enemies scatter before him as he dives down from the sky... considers spreading fear his greatest weapon. This kind, good-natured side is disguised by his horrifying form... even his comrades shy away. Flies at 250 mph... air-to-air missile launcher under each wing fires missiles equivalent of 5000 lbs of TNT, with an 8 mile range. As robot, uses launchers, and 4000 C thermal sword. Fragile wings vulnerable to enemy firepower.
- Swoops are carrion birds native to Mulgore, Desolace, and the Stonetalon Mountains. They are cunning birds, and difficult to find and hunt. They are often hunted for their quills by the tauren. They also use an ability sharing the same name, Swoop.
- Making a spectacular descent from the sky, Swoop watches with unhidden glee as his enemies scatter in terror before his looming presence. And that's just the way he likes it because he knows fear is a more effective weapon than any equipment he carries. Fear is also his greatest friend. His ability to cause it in others is the sole comfort he derives from the form generally considered the most horrifying of all the Dinobots. Even his comrades shy away from him. And that is Swoop's tragedy. When Wheeljack built his Autobot body to resemble that of a pteranodon's, he gladly accepted the form as his contribution to the Autobot cause. Little did he know back then that the good-natured, kind mechanoid that he was - and still is - would be disguised as well.
- A swoop is a repulsorlift vehicle similar to a speeder bike; in fact, it is in essence simply an overpowered speeder bike, "an engine with a seat." Swoops are often used by gangs. After the Galactic Empire outlawed podracing, Swoop Racing became the favored alternative. During the Jedi Civil War, some of the earliest 'swoop bikes' could be found on Taris, from whence the sport of swoop racing spread in popularity.
- Swoop is the Pteronadon Dinobot. His tech spec indicated that Swoop loved seeing his enemies break and run as he launched his aerial attack. However, his vicious exterior hid a gentle, good-natured Autobot. He has the ability to fly at 250 mph and is armed with air-to-air missile launchers under each wing. His greatest weakness perhaps are his fragile wings which are vulnerable to enemy firepower.
