- Many years later the Lawgiver was assassinated by a human and in the fall out Alaya freed Nix and asked him to lead a crackdown on the human population of Mak. As the situation deteriorated into all-out war Nix became the head of the ape military against human insurgents, but eventually became disillusioned with Alaya's extremism. When Alaya was deposed as ape leader, Nix kept her informed of events and eventually joined Alaya and Sullivan in the failed defence of Mak from the army of the Great Khan, in which they all died.

- Nix was a Moradi representative from Morada VII. Nix arrived on the Excalibur with Apriori Flentak. Due to the belief that even verbal contact in another race's language is unclean, Nix spoke and translated entirely for Flentak. Nix and Flentak had traveled to the Excalibur so that they could capture Natchok Var, who was a fugitive holding onto unspecified Moradi secrets. Var allowed Matthew Gideon to copy the data crystals before being taken into custody by Nix and Flentak. Both of them allowed Var to travel on his own shuttle, which was promptly destroyed en route to their ship.
- Nix is a natural satellite of Pluto. It was discovered along with Hydra (Pluto's outermost satellite) in June 2005. It was imaged along with Pluto and its other moons by the New Horizons spacecraft as it flew by the Pluto system in July 2015. Of the four small Plutonian moons the best pictures are of Nix, with resolutions as high as 330 meters per pixel.
- Nix was a slave captured by the Zenda Brothers Circus after the Invasion of the United States. Like the other slaves, or "Donkeys" as they are sometimes referred to, Nix was captured by the Circus leaders Alfonso and his wife Leena by one of three methods: Losing to Leena in a midnight blackjack game, believing that Leena is dead and approaching her child before being taken out by Alfonso, or; believing that Alfonso and Leena's child is sick and getting captured when trying to offer aid. Nix fell for the third method, believing the child to be sick and later cursed: "damn the little bitch to hell". Nix and the other slaves were captured and used to pull the Zenda Brother's Wagon from town to town. Once they reach a town where Ringmaster Jack could gather an audience, the circus held shows
- In Greek mythology, Nyx is the primordial goddess of the night, and mother of Hemera. Appropriately, the icon for Nix is identical to Hemera's flipped horizontally, with the color changed to purple. The colors of the two (orange and purple) could also be reflective of the dichotomy between Prospit and Derse. Combining Nix and Hemera also produces something reminiscent of Calliope's caduceus chat symbol.
