Jackson was famoused for crossing the St.Lawerence River and capturing Montrael and laying siege to Quebec, while the remainder of the American army marched onto York, surrounding and capturing the capital of Lower Canada. He also became the delegate for the US at the signing of the Treaty of Ghent.
