- Loth was an identity assumed by The Doctor in 2378. The Doctor presented Loth as the "Supreme Archon" and as belonging to the R'Kaal Imperium. He assumed this disguise in order to persuade the crew of the USS Voyager to relinquish their warp core. Later, when the Hierarchy attempted to download additional templates into The Doctor's holomatrix, his program began to destabilize and assumed the form of several random templates, including Loth. (VOY: "Renaissance Man") The Doctor's Loth persona was played by David Sparrow.

- Loth was a leader of the ancestors of the people of Neuberg before they became field ploughers and town-dwellers. He was their leader when they still resided in the far north. His skill in battle was only equalled by his pride and self-love. These latter traits led Loth to set up images of himself to worship. The most worshipped god of the northern peoples was Oiden and this god presented to Loth a talisman which made him stronger in combat for its light befuddled all enemies, especially Hellspawn. However, Oiden was dismayed by Loth's self love which detracted from his worship and the Talisman was made so that the wearer would never be able to look in a mirror while wearing the talisman for it would destroy them. Als Scaith mac Luand, der Ferdun von Rhyandi, Heere schickte, um die Burg zu befreien, schlugen die Untoten ein paar hundert Meilen weiter im Ophis zu und eroberten stattdessen Daur-an-Macha. Auf Dauer aber konnte der Knochenherr Loth nicht halten. Fast zehn Jahre später, im Frühjahr des Jahrs des Weines 414 n.P.. war aus der Burg, die kurz Beute der Untoten war, eine ausgebaute rhyandische Stadt geworden, deren Sorge erneut eine grosse Flotte ungewisser Herkunft war: eine grosse Flotte der Inquisition zog im Sichtbereich der Burg auf und nährte die Zweifel, ob diese neue Kraft tatsächlich die rhyandische Spielart des Chaos mit ihrer Verehrung von Dondra, Norto und Ildru so sympathisch finden würden wie sie vorgaben.

In reality, The Doctor's actions were the responsibility of two members of the Hierarchy, who forced The Doctor to help them steal Voyager's warp core by holding Captain Kathryn Janeway hostage. By accessing The Doctor's holographic matrix, the Hierarchy were able to change his appearance to that of Loth. The Doctor, in the guise of Loth, stated that the R'Kaal had outlawed conventional warp travel through their territory, and insisted that Voyager eject its warp core. He later told Chakotay that if Voyager did not surrender its warp core within ten hours, his armada would destroy the starship. Later, when the Hierarchy attempted to download additional templates into The Doctor's holomatrix, his program began to destabilize and assumed the form of several random templates, including Loth.
