This was a special chair that was in the centre of a dais at Courtroom Ten, where the accused would sit during a trial before the Council of Magical Law and in later years the Wizengamot, a section of the Ministry of Magic. The chair had magical chains that would bind its occupant, if the occupant was accused of serious criminal charges. They did not bind Harry Potter during his disciplinary hearing, but did clink threateningly when he sat down. If more than one are accused, more than one chair will be set up. It was later moved to a courtroom used by the Muggle-Born Registration Commission to interogate Muggle-borns.
