  • The Package was the code name for a data storage unit used by Dr. Catherine Halsey to store a fragment of the AI Cortana. During the Fall of Reach, Noble Team's final objective, particularly that of SPARTAN-B312, was to get the Package, and the sensitive data it contained, off the planet on the UNSC Pillar of Autumn. The Package appeared to be a large, cylindrical metal canister with a hollow section in the center, which contained a data crystal chip. The fragment of Cortana that was within the chip contained the "latchkey discovery" made by Laszlo Sorvad and the information decrypted from the Babd Catha Forerunner complex.
