| - The Wings of Icarus were fabled wings that give the ability of flight to their owner. The last person to use them was devoured by the dragon Thermofax, so they were lost.
- Wings of Icarus is Pit's Up Special Move in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This makes his wings glow a blue color, and gives him the ability to fly for approximately 3 seconds. The initial "flash" will stop a projectile for a split second, but interrupt the move. It also pushes enemies and items away. When this move is done in midair, Pit may slightly lose altitude. It is possible to not go into helplessness by canceling the move using an aerial attack during it. When Pit is in metal form, Wings of Icarus will only slow his fall, unless used directly from the ground. This also applies to his jumps.
- Wings of Icarus is the name of Pit's Up Special in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It is based off of Pit's Angel's Feather, though they are not the same. It is unknown if Nintendo purposely changed the name or had a mistranslation. Ironically, the original myth of Icarus from Greek mythology features a poorly assembled set of wings that burn off, causing Icarus to plummet into the ocean.

This move is arguably one of the best recovery moves in the game, as Pit is capable of flying up past the upper blast line (but not getting ringed out because he is not in a stunned animation), and flying around the bottom of most stages with this move alone. He can even pull off the Reverse Hyrule Jump with just using this move alone. It moves even higher performed from the ground. The only downside to this move is that while using this move, if Pit is hit, he cannot use it again until he lands. However if the move is interrupted just as Pit activates it (during the initial flash), it won't count as his one attempt and he may reuse it without touching ground. The window of opportunity for this is very small though. If Pit's feet touch the ground while using Wings of Icarus, he can re-use all of his mid-air jumps and even Wings of Icarus again provided he cancels the first or is hit by an opponent. This can be repeated as to give Pit an infinite amount of jumps. This move is subject to diminishing returns if used less than two seconds after finishing it the first time (including landing, being interrupted, attacking, grabbing a ledge, or letting it run its course in the air) and initiating the second one. It will last for much less time if used this often, with a minimum time of about one second, but the exact duration depends on how quickly the move was reused; the sooner it is reused the less time it will last. It is possible to not go into helplessness by canceling the move using an aerial attack during it. When Pit is in metal form, Wings of Icarus will only slow his fall, unless used directly from the ground. This also applies to his jumps. This move is functionally similar to R.O.B's Robo Burner. Wing dashing is a technique with this move that allows Pit to move around the screen quickly.

It is unknown if Nintendo purposely changed the name or had a mistranslation. Pit's wings will glow vibrant blue and his wings will flap rapidly. Pit can choose the direction of where to go, though usually flying in a downwards angle ends the move sooner. Flying upwards, on the other hand, goes an incredible distance; it is believed to be one of the best recoveries in Smash history. However, if Pit is hit at all during the recovery, his flight will end short, causing him to become tired; and he will be unable to use the move again. Ironically, the original myth of Icarus from Greek mythology features a poorly assembled set of wings that burn off, causing Icarus to plummet into the ocean.
