It's hot waters are inhospitable for conventional aquatic life but it it still enjoys a thriving ecosystem dominated by ferocious sea monsters such as Sea Dragons and Helldrakes. Today, the Boiling Sea is traversed by Dark Elf ships travelling to the Far East and Black Arks hunting for sea monsters.

An immense earthquake ripped apart the coasts bordering the Far Sea and toppled them into the seas, fashioning the patchwork of islands that now run along the length of the western coast. The earthquake also tore deep rents in the sea bed, terrible wounds in the world's flesh that have never healed. Through these fissures, molten lava surges up from the world's core, heating the water and creating great bursts of explosive vapors. In parts, the sea literally boils, giving rise to the region's name.[1a]

Alice comments on how amazing it is in person, and Cyrus tells her she's the same. As the two look lovingly at each other, Cyrus apologizes and explains that he was always the one granting wishes, not making them. Alice asks what he's talking about, so he explains that throughout his time as a genie, all he wanted to be was free, but now he has another wish. He gets down on one knee, trying to mimic a proposal from Alice's land, but before he can give a speech, Alice agrees cheerfully. The two of them embrace in a kiss and then Cyrus shows Alice his necklace, which is glowing red, stating their hearts are entwined, so from now on he'll know when she is near. However, this

They do so for one reason only -- to capture the monstrous sea creatures that have become such an important part of their fleet. Although many parts of the Boiling Sea are deadly to all forms of life, there are others where the mineral-rich waters teem with all manner of savage predators. Many such beasts, notably the ferocious Helldrakes and the vast Sea Dragons, have long served the Dark Elves as vessels of war -- at least since the Naggarothi learned how to sorcerously fuse battle-fortresses to the beasts' backs. With more and more of these creatures brought back from the Boiling Sea, the Dark Elf fleets have been dramatically transformed -- many Black Arks are now accompanied by flotillas of these primeval terrors.[1a]

The mineral rich water is home to plankton and number of predatory animals. Today, the Boiling Sea is traversed by Dark Elf ships travelling to the Far East and Black Arks hunting for sea monsters.
