  • Perses was the Titan god of destruction. He was the son of Crius and Eurybia. He married the daughter of Coeus and Phoebe, his cousin Asteria. He had one daughter, Hecate. He was banished to Tartaros because he participated in the Titanomachy on the side of his kin. After his incarceration, his wife was courted by Zeus. She fled him by turning into a quail and leaping into the sea. She became the island of Delos and it was there her sister Leto gave birth to Apollo. His Roman counterpart is Persaeus.

Se le consideraba como el primer sacrílego que osó robar parte del tesoro sagrado de Delfos. * Un hijo de Helios y Perseis que usurpó el trono de la Cólquida a su hermano Eetes después de la huida de la maga Medea y los argonautas. Perses fue finalmente derrotado por el nieto de Eetes cuando acudió desde Asia con un enorme ejército y murió envenedado por la propia Medea. * Uno de los hijos de Perseo, quien dio nombre a los persas.
