The Valkyrie-class Battleship was the only battleship used during the early years of the Human-Covenant War by the UNSC Navy. The class was the first mobile system to wield the legendary Super Magnetic Accelerator Cannon as a standard arnament, which was able to launch one ferric tungsten/depleted uranium slug at just under half the speed of light every three-and-a-half minutes. This allowed for an impressive ability to suppress Covenant capital ships more efficiently than other UNSC vessels. However, the class struggled due to its painfully ineffective maneuverability and therefore was outperformed as a class by the more elusive and almost as powerful cruisers of the fleet.
