Dr. Fitzroy J. Cobb, Ph.D., M.D., better known as Dr Macabre, or 'the Monster Maker', is a Schimmelhorn Engineer (e.g., a non-mutant mad scientist) who seeks to find a scientific explanation for phenomena such as vampires, werewolves, zombies, and the like. To this end, he abducts teenagers and experiments with them, turning them into mock forms of the creatures he is studying, and uses them as his minions (if they survive the process). As of 2006, there were over 500 deaths attributed to his actions, mostly victims of his experiments.

As of 2006, there were over 500 deaths attributed to his actions, mostly victims of his experiments. It was eventually discovered that Cobb was suffering from a form of possession by a malignant spirit, and that his "experiments" facilitated other spirits to possess his victims. Mister Magic did not appreciate his actions around Christmas 2006 and took upon himself to deliver an appropriate retribution.
