Dr. Hector Uribe was a scholar who lived in Cadiz, Spain, and an expert in the legend of Atlantis. His collection of books and artifacts relating to the lost city made him a target of a Nazi team led by Colonel Klaus Kerner, who stole almost everything of value. Afterward, he telegraphed Marcus Brody, who met him in Cadiz. There, after introducing Brody to his daughter, Conchita, he entrusted the curator with a small artifact from the Jastro expedition that the Nazis had overlooked.
