Xonemes are Aurum enemies in Kid Icarus: Uprising that are introduced in Chapter 15, along with many other Aurum enemies. They look like small poles with shields rotating around them. They are invulnerable in this state. However, Xonemes use these shields to attack by fanning them outward, causing damage to Pit upon contact. Dashing through the shields when they're spread outward and attacking the middle will defeat the Xonemes. In air battles, Xonemes will tilt themselves horizontally, causing the middle to be exposed and vulnerable, making them much less threatening enemies.
