He was discovered on the planet of Rodia by Volvife Monnn, a Defel Jedi Master in Luke Skywalker's Jedi Academy on Yavin IV. Jaden proved to be quite strong in the Force, as well as being very skilled in the use of two lightsabers, and at the age of fourteen, was chosen to be the Padawan of Kyle Katarn, a Jedi who has been on both sides of the Force. While at the Academy, Jaden became friends with fellow student Rosh Penin, a young and eager human male Jedi. At the age of eighteen, Jaden and Kyle went to the planet of Tatooine in order to investigate rumors of a sith cult known as the Disciples of Ragnos, as well as a mercenary group that could be backing the cult with soldiers, weapons, and credits. After Jaden returned to Yavin IV, he learned that Rosh had been killed in a mission of his own on Tophi. Several weeks later, Jaden was sent to Chandrila to stop an army of mercenaries and cultists from channeling Force energy from the planet and using it against the New Republic, as well as resurrect the spirit of Marka Ragnos. If Jaden succeeded in his mission, he could stop the coming back of Ragnos, and most importantly, stop a possible war between the Republic and the cultists. Unfortunately, Jaden was killed during the mission while trying to battle several mercenaries and a cultist all at once. Because of this, he could not stop the war that the cultists had started against the New Republic.
