About: Luck Locust   Sponge Permalink

An Entity of Type : owl:Thing, within Data Space : 134.155.108.49:8890 associated with source dataset(s)

Created by the Old Ones, they were used by the Tsukigata Fukoshi as a means to assassinate their targets. Unlike the Soldier Bugs they have no actual way of assassinating their target physically so they are used to steal the luck of their target, leaving them with such bad luck that it results in them dying in an accident with no proof left behind of their actions. Once a Luck Locust has eaten enough luck it will go back to the nest and fuse it together to make it a part of the Pojitrawn.

  • Created by the Old Ones, they were used by the Tsukigata Fukoshi as a means to assassinate their targets. After Dahn hears about the Destroyer Insects and King Abaddon from Louis Cyphre and how they will appear when the Pojitrawn is complete he begins spreading the Luck Locusts throughout the capital, allowing them to eat their fill of luck in order to finish the Pojitrawn. This is why they show up throughout the capital in random encounters as they are traveling around stealing the luck of others. Early on, the Luck Locusts steal Raidou Kuzunoha the XIV's luck, which ends up being bad for him for a time until his luck is later restored. Fukoshi and normal humans carry the Luck Locusts around in red insect cages that they use to keep them under control. In battle one can capture and put these Locusts in the cages by using birdlime, which brings them to Raidou and allows him to capture them. Doing this increases ones luck and can gain bonuses through a good luck roulette. Using a locust as an item will also make a good luck roulette happen. Luck Locusts are fragile creatures and it only takes a small amount of damage to kill them. So when attempting to capture them one must be careful not to kill them. Luck Locusts will not steal the luck of a corpse and for this reason the Death Ward was created as a means to prevent one's luck from being stolen. However it comes at the price of slowly killing the one who uses it over time as it is a type of poison. Luck Locusts have a small chance of dropping Luck Incense.
