  • Sheg-Wey was a Zyked pirate captain among the Nightside Raiders and one of the principal lieutenants of Captain-General Kilwyo Kesh. Born on the Zyked homeworld of Deshad, Sheg-Wey was originally trained to be part of the Leadership Caste despite his proficiency in hand-to-hand combat. As a young man, however, he deserted Deshad for the promise of riches in the galaxy at large. He worked for a few small-time criminal elements before he found his way to the Nightside Raiders. Sheg-Wey was considered handy in a fight by his brethren, but also crafty and clever. He assisted leaders of the brotherhood in concocting ruses to boarding target craft and to lure pursuing ships of the Tetrarchy of Mezlagob into ambushes. When Kilwyo Kesh was serving as an informal apprentice to Captain-General Garik Armande, he had already noticed Sheg-Wey's cleverness and creativity and included the Zyked in many of his schemes for the Raiders. Kesh assassinated Armande in 103 ABY and assumed leadership of the Raiders. He immediately gave Sheg-Wey and his other closest supporters ships and crews of their own. Sheg-Wey quickly moved up from a single craft to a small flotilla, and became the terror of the Vall`to sector from the bridge of his flagship, the Bloodletting. The Zyked personally oversaw the sacking of at least one Royal Integration Corps convoy and earned a "dead or alive" bounty from the Golden Empire, although, unlike Kesh, he was never declared an Enemy of the Empire. In 109 ABY, Sheg-Wey was with Kesh and several other Raiders in the Miner's Daughter on Vedros IV, drinking and planning the next phase of their campaigns. Kesh promoted Sheg-Wey to control over all operations in the Xoquon sector, but the promotion was not to be. Seconds after the pronouncement that would have effectively made Sheg-Wey Kesh's second-in-command, Kesh was stabbed to death by Renamo Kemset. In the ensuing brawl, Sheg-Wey attempted to kill Kemset, but was hit in the face by Ossak bartender Warda Grobb. When he recovered, he got into a grappling match with the bartender. Despite dealing Grobb two lethal bites, Sheg-Wey was pinned to the floor by the Ossak, who seized his hands with two of his own and his throat with the other two. Unable to throw off the mount, Sheg-Wey was strangled to death on the barroom floor.
