"Tricky Dicky" sparked notable feuds with Phil Mitchell and Ian Beale, especially after "Tricky Dicky" dated Ian's mother Kathy and mistreated her. It was the latter feud that led to his leaving the square when Ian discovered that 'Tricky Dicky' had framed his former colleague, Neil Bradley, on the Doncaster Council for accepting bribes. Ian informed Neil about where Richard was, which then led him to flee Walford, not to return.
