James Owers Devereux (c. 1864 - 9 April 1941) was a chemist's assistant and local politician active in south London. In 1901 he was resident in Blackfriars Road and was a poor law guardian of St Saviour's and Southwark borough councillor. In that year he and his wife were awarded the "Dunmow Flitch". Mayor of Southwark 1905-06. In the 1911 census he was described as a house decorator. At the time of his death he lived in Stanway, Essex.
