On his website, he had this to say about Zantareous' history: Zantareous was created in the summer of 2005 with the original intent of being a Magic pure. I liked to make new accounts and try out different play styles whenever I got bored of playing on my main (Soccaplaya47). I began woodcutting because I needed money to buy runes, and Yews seemed like the best way to make money at the time. While still woodcutting to save up money, I decided to drop my goal of being a Magic pure - the cost of runes needed to PK seemed unmanageable from woodcutting alone, and I didn't have much experience PKing despite making several combat pures, overall the pursuit didn't seem worth it. However, I decided to continue woodcutting with a new goal of being a pure Woodcutter/Firemaker. I played on-and-off between different accounts for a few months after that, during which my main received a ban, and then I began to focus on Zantareous - eventually expanding to be a full-fledged skiller. I was a highly-ranked F2P skiller until the latter half of 2010 when I retired from the F2P skilling scene. The rest is history.
