Background: The Marion Mayhem is a charter member of the Great Lakes Indoor Football League (GLIFL), later renamed the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL). They play their home games at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Marion, Ohio. The Mayhem is the first pro football team to be based in the area since the NFL's Oorang Indians ceased operations in 1923. (The Indians technically represented nearby LaRue, Ohio, but tiny LaRue had no football field and so played nearly all their games on the road. Oorang's only "home" game was played in Marion, a 20-6 win over Columbus on October 8, 1922.)
