The "Minute Waltz" is a classical piece written by Frédéric Chopin in 1847. The piece is known in full as "Waltz in D-flat major, Op. 64, No. 1, Valse du petit chien" ("Waltz of the little dog" in French). Much later, screenwriter Lan O'Kun added new, self-aware lyrics to the piece, which was popularly performed by Barbra Streisand for her 1966 album Color Me Barbara. Sesame Street's first season featured a performance of O'Kun's version, as performed by an Anything Muppet woman who becomes more and more disheveled as the song progresses.
