The overgod of any realm is usually considered the being that created it. In most realms (or crystal spheres or material planes) the existence and working of the overgod is perceived only by the gods themselves. Overgods lie beyond the bounds of rankings of deities' powers in any way. They are considered more powerful than any other god and all gods combined. They are omnipotent, omniscient in any regard, but not concerned with the affairs of mortals. It's fair to say that they are the gods of the gods.
