The Premiere Wrestling Alliance (PWA) was opened in August 2007 and is run by The Butcher, acting as commissioner, alongside a Board of Directors. The company held it's first PPV event Gold Rush on September 9, 2007 and has operated with a weekly event named Violation since with new pay-per-view events coming every 4–6 weeks. On June 10, 2009, the company launched it's second weekly show Conflict, which featured longtime competitor Nighthawk shocking the world by winning the World Title in a three-man elimination submission match over reigning champion Terminus and "Hot Shot" Chris Michaels.
