Emmeline Tatlock (née Duckworth) was the mother of Albert and Alfred Tatlock, the wife of William and the paternal grandmother of Joyce Tatlock, Valerie Barlow and Beattie Pearson. William and his wife Emmeline had their first son, Albert, in 1895, and he was followed by his younger brother Alfred. However, both parents died of TB in 1906, when Albert was only eleven. However, he was by this time old enough to get a job at Hardcastle's Mill and pay the rent at their lodgings on Rosamund Street. William's sister Mary Osbourne and her husband Thomas took on partial responsibility for his sons.
