| - Wind Magic is one of three types of Anima Magic. Beginning in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, and continuing in Fire Emblem: Thracia 776, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Wind, along with Fire and Thunder, was divided into its own type of magic, although still classified under Anima, while in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, Wind magic is grouped with all other Anima magic tomes. In its first appearance in Genealogy of the Holy War wind magic was the obvious superior to its fellow anima magics, as it had even might, but far less weight than fire or thunder magic of the same level. This made it the best choice for most any occasion for fighting. Initially, in Path of Radiance, Wind magic was at the lower end of the spectrum for Anima magic, being lesser in strength but superior in accuracy than its Fire and Thunder counterparts. This was switched in Radiant Dawn, where Wind Magic became balanced in Might and, at higher levels, Crit. Wind Magic is often effective against flying units, such as Pegasus Knights, Falcon Knights, Wyvern Riders, Wyvern Lords, Hawk Laguz, Raven Laguz, and Heron Laguz. It is suspected that the vast number of units which are affected by Wind magic is responsible for its lower Might in Path of Radiance. In Radiant Dawn, Wind Magic was not effective against Wyvern-mounted units, upon which Thunder was effective instead, and so Thunder (which was also effective against Dragon Laguz) was made the least powerful.
