Ochs holds a Ph.D. and B.A. from Yale University and an M.A. from the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. Ochs is an influential thinker whose interests include Jewish philosophy and theology, modern and postmodern philosophic theology, pragmatism, and semiotics. He is cofounder of the Society for Scriptural Reasoning, which seeks to bridge the gap between faith and reason in scriptural interpretation, and the Children of Abraham Institute.
