Neville Chamberlain was a British Politician who served as Prime Minister (1937 - 1940). He served as Minister of Health (1923 - 1924) under his brother, and Chancellor of the Exchequer (1929 - 1931) and (1935 - 1937) under Baldwin. He was considered Baldwin's logical successor, and following his surprise resignation in May 1937 became leader. He led the Conservative-National Liberal government to victory in the 1940 general election. In autumn 1940 his health declined rapidly, and in October he resigned. He died a month later.
