Yang Jun was an admiral in the navy of the Galactic Republic, and later the Galactic Empire's navy. A cunning tactician, he fought with distinction during the Clone Wars and the subsequent campaigns. After the formation of the Alliance to Restore the Republic in 2 BBY, Jun fought against them in the Galactic Civil War. During that time, he made many allies among the officer corps of the Empire, including Captain Gilad Pellaeon. He retired after the deaths of Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader at Endor, believing the Empire was a mere shadow of it's former self. During that time, Jun lived peacefully on Wakeelmui, his homeworld.

During that time, Jun lived peacefully on Wakeelmui, his homeworld. However, after the formation of the Imperial Remnant in 12 ABY, Jun was asked to rejoin the Navy with his old rank by Pellaeon, who was looking for more experienced officers. He accepted, wanting to stabilize what was left of the Empire. Pellaeon placed him in command of the Bastion Defense Fleet, satisfying the Moffs, who wanted a capable officer in charge of defending the capitol. Jun later fought during the Yuuzhan Vong War, scoring several victories against the extragalactic invaders. After the war ended, Jun permanently retired on his home planet and peacefully lived out the rest of his days.
