The DC-5A Blaster Rifle was often mistaken for the Clone Wars' DC-15S blaster. The weapons had the same shape, were made by the same company and were made with the same materials. However, the similarities ended there. Whereas the DC-15S was a Blaster Pistol, for use as a secondary weapon, the DC-5A was a Blaster Rifle for use as a primary weapon. The weapon's Tibanna gas cartridge carried enough gas for approximately 500 shots, depending on the power settings of the weapon. It fired blue plasma bolts that could destroy enemy infantry units with ease.
