Routine data interception of Insurrectionist transmissions by the Office of Naval Intelligence led to an unexpected breakthrough on the UNSC's efforts to pacify the Outer Colonies - unintentionally, the rebels had given away the location of several important Insurrectionist personnel. While Blue Team had killed General Howard Graves in 2531 in Tauri 111, there were still three other leaders of the URF, taking over from Colonel Watts. Indigo Team was deployed by NavSpecWar to retrieve sources of information in order to better track and kill them.

  • Routine data interception of Insurrectionist transmissions by the Office of Naval Intelligence led to an unexpected breakthrough on the UNSC's efforts to pacify the Outer Colonies - unintentionally, the rebels had given away the location of several important Insurrectionist personnel. While Blue Team had killed General Howard Graves in 2531 in Tauri 111, there were still three other leaders of the URF, taking over from Colonel Watts. Indigo Team was deployed by NavSpecWar to retrieve sources of information in order to better track and kill them. Cooperating with local ONI personnel as "regular" NavSpecWar personnel, Indigo pinpointed three individuals with ties to the United Rebel Front - Katherin Curric, Harold Limburger, and Kenneth Olgerman; the first a well known television personality, the latter two former soldiers from the UNSC Army who had found work around the colonies as bodyguards and hitmen. Curric was picked up relatively easily and quietly - the latter two, however, disappeared quickly. Ditching ONI, Indigo donned their MJOLNIR and tracked the two, capturing Limburger and killing Olberman, as well as several other Insurrectionists - the two captured rebels would eventually disclose much of the existing infrastructure of the URF and other rebel groups, including the Cygnus Liberation Front, the "Dogs of War" - the fact that they were located in the Magog asteroid belt was in itself a major breakthrough. Indigo Team was deployed to 61 Cygni in order to perform Operation: ECHIDNA, following up on the leads acquired from TYPHON. Limburger was hanged for treason against Earth and the UNSC, while Curric was given a life sentence. The mission was classified GAMAA TWO, only available to UNSC Security Committee members, and the ONI personnel involved were all under strict order to continue to use their cover stories - routine radio maintenance.
