  • Dr. Massimo Pallottino was an Italian archaeologist and the world's leading expert on Etruscan archaeology. He was also part of an ancient lineage of Etruscan priests, loosely associated with the Euthanatos. In early 2003 he and his apprentice, Roderigo Sdoia, uncovered the tomb of an ancient liche named Larth. Pallottino and Sdoia entered the tomb behind Lucrezia della Passaglia, who had breached the magic binding the Larth. Pallottino attempted to persuade Larth not to unleash the wrath of he underworld on the city above them, and seemed for a moment to be getting through to him. The arrival of Gawain Alexander and Jezebel Lee of the Order of Hermes, however, angered Larth, who killed Pallottino for "betraying" the Etruscan god to the "Cult of Mercury."
