Savio received Palpatine's order, but he refused to execute his commanding officer. His fellow comrades, now led by CC-4567, followed the order and attempted to execute Savio and Sakrav. Escaping the betrayal fo their troops, Savio and Sakrav later joined the Rebel Alliance against the Galactic Empire. While leading a raiding an Imperial outpost on Zukala in 2 ABY, Savio was killed when Darth Vader ran through him with a lightsaber.

Escaping the betrayal fo their troops, Savio and Sakrav later joined the Rebel Alliance against the Galactic Empire. While leading a raiding an Imperial outpost on Zukala in 2 ABY, Savio was killed when Darth Vader ran through him with a lightsaber. After the battle ended in an Alliance victory, Savio's body was later recovered and buried in a mausoleum during a service attended by fellow clone troopers who defected to the Alliance. Zukala and it's system was renamed in Savio's honour.
