| - Heelum the solawurm is an important character in The Sun-Snatchers. He has a lofty attitude toward non-solawurms and has a tendency to enter blind rages when angered. He is the older brother of Grakk and, before the events of the book, was seperated from his sibling, who was hypnotized by Lord Rawhead and his private fleet of hypno-ships. While the evil megalosaurus used his gigantic slave to wreak havoc on the peaceful woolly rhino planet of Hawn, Heelum contined to search for his brother. He ran into Teggs and Gipsy in the Vegmeat Zone and, frightened, they attempted to hypnotize him. They failed, and the furious Heelum prepared to blow fire on Shuttle Alpha. Gipsy desperately impersonated Grakk's cry for help earlier. Startled, Heelum stopped attacking, calmed down, and allowed the astrosaurs to explain themselves. He decided to spare them because Gipsy knew solawurm and must have met Grakk. Teggs and Gipsy informed Heelum that his brother was rampaging near Hawn and the giant worm denied that, explaining that solawurms were usually peaceful creatures that only chose suns with no planets to feed on. Grakk arrived on the scene, bloated and sick, unable to speak with his worried brother, who realized that Grakk had been hypnotized. Lord Rawhead followed, attacking and trying to hypnotize Heelum while taking the astrosaurs prisoner on his ship. Teggs and Gipsy woke up Heelum telepathically, and he went beserk, destroying hypno-ships and threatening Rawhead's craft, not realizing that his allies were on board. Heelum calmed down enough for Gipsy and Teggs to inform him of Rawhead's capture and allowed them to leave. Knowing that Grakk would die if he ate any more suns, he agreed to save Hawn and took Shuttle Alpha back to the planet. He used his eyelash to flick the shuttle at Grakk, waking him up, and helped his brother to recover by squeezing the star-fire out of him, lighting the final sun and saving Hawn. He bid farewell to the astrosaurs before leaving Hawn forever.
