Johnny Rebel was a real life musician, born on September 25, 1938, who is most famous for his racist songs, such as "Nigger Hatin Me" and "Alabama Nigger", and is a possible influence to the rise of Moon Man, although the two have no known connection. In 1966, he released his first 4 songs, "Kajun Ku Klux Klan", "Looking For a Handout", "Nigger Hatin Me", and "Who Likes a Nigger". He later released 8 more songs during the late 60s and early 70s, before coming back in 2003 to release his second, and last album, "It's The Attitude, Stupid". Johnny Rebel died in September 3, 2016, at the age of 77.

  • John Bailey, a 15-year-old boy from an unknown Southern state. When his grandfather, Colonel Bailey, a Confederate veteran and plantation owner, was killed by Nazi agents, he set to defend his homeland against other Nazi agents as Johnny Rebel. He wore a costume that his his grandfather passed on to him on his 15th birthday. Johnny Rebel had no super powers but was a good fighter and acrobat. He was assisted by his family's African American butler and friend, Rufus. Johnny Rebel teamed up with Yankee Boy and Yankee Doodle Jones, his fellow Yankee Comics characters, in a three-part text story published in Yankee Comics #3.
