The Shops at Nanuet opened in 1969 as an enclosed shopping mall. However, when the Palisades Center opened in 1998, the mall lost a great amount of popularity and it went into demise. In 2012, all of the stores closed except for Macy*s and Sears. One year later, the mall was renovated as an outdoor shopping mall and included new stores and restaurants, including a Regal Cinemas and 24 Hour Fitness.
