  • Atomic Wasteland is a subzone located in the Desert. It acts as a quest hub for heroes operating in the region, boasting missions within a relatively large valley inhabited by a large number of Irradiates. __ToC__ The Atomic Wasteland was the site of various nuclear weapons testing in the 1950s by the United States government. Due to the extensive radiation present in the region to this day, these valleys and surrounding cliffs has been rendered unsafe for human habitation. However, this area of radioactive pools and left-over warheads is far from abandoned; Irradiates are drawn to the Wastelands, large numbers gathering in what many of the mutants see as a holy land. This abnormally large Irradiate population makes the valley extremely dangerous for non-mutants, but also provides a unique chance for PRIMUS scientists to research the effects of radiation on the human body and mind.
