| - Renoir's Master Raphael Hamato is a strict ninja sensei but a poor caretaker who has failed to feed his new student Renoir even once since recently taking him in. After Renoir accidentally breaks one of Donatello's inventions, Raph sends the young turtle to eat at Shadow's apartment, where he becomes acquainted with Shadow's reclusive Uncle Mikey. Raph convinces Donnie to repair the invention in exchange for a sample of Renoir's blood, but Donnie is dismayed that Raph has only fished Renoir's bandage out of the trash. The brothers' visit quickly turns into acrimony as Donnie expresses his mean-spirited contempt for his brother Raph, but Raph's violent fit of rage is suddenly calmed when he spots an old table that reminds him fondly of Leonardo. Mikey tells Renoir the story of the estranged Hamato brothers and their tragic past, but Mikey has ulterior motives—Mikey loves his brothers, but Renoir is in a position to help the damaged brother Raphael in a way Mikey no longer can. Raph arrives to collect his student and finds the brothers' photo album, but nostalgia turns to pain and envy at seeing photos of Mikey's later moments as part of a happy Jones family household from a time when Raph had been living alone in despair. Shadow, Mikey and Renoir soon discover Raph binge-drinking and heavily inebriated. Raph not only resents Mikey's life choices over the past 17 years, but agonizes at how much Donnie has come to despise him. Mikey attempts to comfort his sobbing brother as Renoir finally witnesses just how broken and vulnerable his master truly is.
