  • Colic refers to the pain caused by inflammation or gas or other things which cause pain and discomfort in the colon. It could create problems such as stomachaches and constipation. Mace Martingale compared the growth of the Kryptonian mushrooms to the inflammation present on "pups with the colic."
  • Colic describes any pain with sudden onset which can also stop abrubtly. It is usually due to severe contractions of a tube in order to force out an obstruction. It is a typical symptom of kidney stones and gallstones. It is often accompanied by vomiting and sweating. In infants, it describes incessant crying for no apparent reason and is usually not a symptom of any serious underlying condition.
